Sesat Di Kuala Lumpur

One of my favourite things to do these days is to walk the streets of downtown Kuala Lumpur right after Subuh on weekends. Before it "comes alive", KL is so serene and stunningly beautiful, and it stands as a reminder of how blessed we truly are to be living this land of peace and abundance. Alhamdulillah...

Menangani 'Breaking News'

Bila askar kita terbunuh, saya bersiaran (tapi tak ingat rakan setugas). The whole nation was simply in shock. Who were these people killing our soldiers?? Again, it was an extremely emotional broadcast. Tapi perasaan peribadi kena tolak tepi. Yang penting, kena sampaikan info, isu dengan jelas without making any big mistakes. It goes without saying that the stakes are simply very, very high when you're doing 'live' news or talk shows.

Selamat Hari Wilayah!

One of the most memorable trips to KL for me was with the school's prefect board in 1988. YAM Tunku Majid was part of the entourage (he was the timbalan kapten), so we had an outrider accompanying us from JB 😄 We also stayed at Rumah Johor at Kenny Hills. Then we visited some schools including VI (pic). The highlight for us (from an all boys school) was of course visiting St Mary's and CBN. Hehe. We also went jalan2 around KL, but those stories will be for another day 😀

Selamat Hari Wilayah!

The MHI Effect

I posted this a couple of days ago on Threads and was surprised to see that it gained over 1.3 million views (at the time of writing). Seriously, never thought something I copied and pasted from a facebook post that I put up a few years ago could really resonate with people.

What's even more heartwarming was reading the positive and wonderful (and funny) comments and reactions. MHI during those years really left a good impression on our viewers, Alhamdulillah. Apparently, it was THE source of information and latest news and happenings for many. Our conversations and interviews also cheered up people first thing in the morning and even made some constantly late for work or school! Oops...

Also interesting to know was how it appealed to 3 different generations in a single household, with most of those who commented fondly recalling how they were still in school when their parents and/or grandparents would switch on MHI for everyone to watch/listen to.

It's been a while, but I just want to give a major shout out to my co-hosts and the awesome production team! Memang berbaloi all the effort made by everyone, year in and year out!

Where Are We Now?

I had no idea where we were this morning, haha! So okay, we took the WCE to Jeram for a specific breakfast spot tapi tutuplah pulak. So I just drove around for a bit and stopped at the typical warung in the kampung. Siap ada newspaper on the table (yes, a NEWSPAPER). Anyway, the nasi Lemak was pretty good! Alhamdulillah...
