Welcome To Paradise...

Reached Gold Coast this morning after an 8-hour fuss-free flight. Met up with the rest of the speakers and were transported to our "luxury apartment", Pacific Plaza at Surfers Paradise. The apartment units are huge and equipped with everything including LCD screen and cable TV. Woohoo! But the best part about the place of course is the view...
...

We also took a short stroll along the beach and had our very big brunch...
...

Also managed to quickly check out the sights and shops...

Can't wait to explore. more. But first, need to fine tune my presentation for tomorrow's event!

Gold Coast, Here I Come!

Lucky me, tomorrow night, I'll be on a flight to Gold Coast Australia. The offer came out of the blue, but who am I to turn it down?

It won't be all fun and games though. I'll be there to attend and present a paper at the New Media & Informed Citizen Symposium 2009. Yes, heavy stuff indeed. But hey, whatever benefits my beloved employer, I'll be more than happy to do it.
Even if it means flying to one of the Fun capitals of the world!

My 5 Favourite... Shout! Awards 2009 Moments

5. Sean Kingston and posse sauntered to the wrong part of the stage and missed the mic when presenting the Flava Award. Award shows are always more memorable with some funny unscripted moments…

4. Tony Fernandes’s tweet at the event, saying: “At the shout music awards by 8tv. Presenting an award. Now this award should be seen by all politicians.” You know, 1Malaysia and stuff...

3. Bunkface brought on kids as their gimmick. And it worked! The night’s biggest winners also showed they thoroughly deserved the trophies they took home.
...
2. The Babes. Oh yes, there were plenty of those moments. I couldn’t have done it any better.
...
1. Paul Moss disses Upin & Ipin and starts a feud. Not quite Bruno vs Eminem, but then again, I’d rather not see any bare butts in this one.

Durian Day!

A bit lambat, but this is still worth writing about, and is filed under : ‘ANOTHER REASON WHY I LOVE WORKING AT SRI PENTAS’.

No I’m not being sarcastic, ‘cos about two weeks ago, we actually had a “Jom Makan Durian” Day!
...

Durians. All types. For free. BEST. FREAKING. DAY EVER.

..

Of course I couldn’t miss it for anything, and it was all worth it.

...

And imagine a few hundred people tearing into the best durians in the world. They were grinning from ear to ear, stuffing their faces with the good stuff, and yes, everyone was smelling fabulous.

There was even a durian-eating contest that rewarded the winners with even MORE durians!
...

Like I said. BEST. FREAKING. DAY. EVER.

Fish & Co

...
So I finally did it. It's a fad I never really considered getting into. But all that changed today. I had fish feeding off my feet. Hurrah.
...
Yes, I squirmed at first, but after a few minutes, it felt as natural as having... um, fish nibbling at your feet. But I discovered that chemistry is quite key as well.
...
I mean, with the Chinese fish, I didn't quite get the reaction I expected.
...
But it was a different story with the Turkish fish. With these little buggers, my feet tasted really good, I guess...
