Lunch!

Lucky for me, everywhere that I end up working, there’s always plenty of good places to eat. But still, after sometime, that “don’t know what to eat” problem will crop up. Normal lah right?

Anyway, here’s my typical week in lunch…

Spicy Chicken McDeluxe. McD takeway.
When it gets too busy and there’s no time to think, I just head on down to the nearest McD (America’s 2nd greatest export after Pam Anderson) and order up a value meal. And I must say the Chicken McDeluxe is quite good. Almost finger lickin’ good.

Aglia Oglio with Grilled Prawns. Pizza Uno.
This is quite a treat for myself lah. Pizza Uno serves THE BEST Oglio in the whole of Malaysia. Add a couple of big fat grilled prawns and you have the perfect meal. Only setback – the price tag lah. Can fill petrol go to Genting ok?

Beef Set With Rice. Yoshinoya, One Utama.
Going Japanese without the sushi. The beef is excellent and the vege’s always fresh. With white rice, it’s a finely-balanced meal. Guilt free! Which means at night can eat a big fat greasy burger already :)

Texas Ted. 1901.
Another don’t-want-to-think option. Hotdog size is still pretty generous. And the iced-tea’s good as well.

Nasi Campur. Stall at Masjid TTDI.

Friday is always Mixed Rice Day. And the stall parked outside the TTDI mosque just before prayers serves up some excellent dishes. But I’m always late, so my favourite paru is usually gone. Fish, kentang and sambal belacan also oklah.

My Next Big Thing

Well, more like OUR next Big Thing…

Here’s the story. Yours truly and a couple of other (really famous) guys are currently working on putting together… a movie!

It’s already at the screenplay writing stage and at as this moment, we’re already halfway thru. We’re also wearing the Executive Producer caps (chewah), which means this is no syok sendiri project.

The budget is already there, a couple of the actors have already said yes, and even the original music is in the works. Ain’t this damn exciting?

Of course you’re now wondering, what’s it all about? What genre? Is it going to have frontal nudity? Or at least, SOME nudity.

Well, it’s going to be a family movie, so no nudity. But male chest-baring might be there.

Genre? Rock ‘n roll comedy, dudes! With a rockin’ soundtrack. So a rockin’ good time is assured!

What was the inspiration? Well, it’s based on a real band. Sorta. Remember our Media Prima part time band, D’Kechewas?
D'Kechewas

Well, one day, at a TV pitching session, a light bulb flashed above my head. I then turned to D’Kechewas keyboard player Izham (who happens to be the CEO of 8TV) and said, “Let’s do a D’Kechewas TV series!”

Of course he laughed in my face. Quite a few others did as well.

But I didn’t give up. I started writing a simple storyline and the character bios. Izham suddenly became a believer. We pitched it there and then, and the feedback we got was surprising. “Do it as a movie!” the head honcho said.

Er, really? A movie?

We went back to work and a few months later, pitched it as a movie. And incredibly, we got the greenlight! Thanks to a cracking Powerpoint presentation by Izham.

So here we are now, reading “How To Write Sceenplay” books in between writing the damn thing. So far, so good.

And if everything goes according to plan, you’ll get to see it sometime next year. So watch this space and remember the name.

D’Kechewas. It’s gonna rock you.

Bon Voyage!

So earlier today, the peeps of Media Prima bid farewell to ntv7 CEO Dato' Anthony Firdauz Bujang. The good Dato' will start (a very interesting) life as NSTP CEO this coming Monday.

Anyway, the farewell do at the ntv7 office was attended by basically all the senior management of Media Prima and GMs. Of course the fine-looking ntv7 ladies were there as well lah, making the most noise most of the time :)

I've known Dato' Anthony for only a couple of years but I can say that he's a fine gentleman with plenty of ideas and passion for what he does. Also, he's a Liverpool supporter, so, automatically the man is cool : )

So, good luck Dato' and hope to see you soon! And of yeah, check out this cool cake they got for him...

Faizal Tahir In Da House!

So last night we had the first ever GUAMUZIK Star Chat on www.gua.com.my. And the honour of being the first artist to do the session went to Faizal Tahir! It started at 9.30pm sharp and lasted for a good hour. Overall, more than 100 chatters took part and aimed dozens of Qs at the very sporting Faizal. Some questions were good and relevant, while others were downright ridiculous. But everyone contributed to a very fun and lively session.

We also had a webcam installed which means the fans actually saw Faizal typing away his answers (while chewing gum, no less), and not some PR person posing as the artist. So I just wanna say thanks to Faizal for being such a good sport and to everyone who got online that night.

The next GUAMUZIK Star Chat session will be next Wednesday at 9.30 with Cheryl Samad. So mark your calendar now!
