Benoit The Murderer?

Amazing story, this. According to latest reports, WWE superstar Chris Benoit was responsible for the deaths of his wife and 7-year-old son. Benoit also committed suicide.

As a result, WWE has pulled out all Benoit tributes online as well as offline. But they've already been criticised for airing a special episode of RAW last night in honour of Benoit.

As a fan myself, I'm equally confused. He was a great competitor and the one time that I got to meet the man, he was just plain awesome. And now...

But the question now is, why? Some have speculated that he was high on steroids, and in fact a lot of the stuff was found at his home.

How I wish this was all nothing but a worked storyline..

RIP Benoit

This is for real. WWE superstar Chris Benoit and his family were found dead at their home yesterday.

I repeat, this is for real and not some WWE story angle.

Nicknamed the Rabid Wolverine, Benoit was one of WWE's greatest competitors and a former World Champion.

I had the opportunity to meet the man when he was in KL a few years back and Benoit was just an awesome guy; humble and down-to-earth although he could probably break every bone in the body of someone like me.

RIP.

Thursday Night Rant: The Cost Of Celebrating

I finally have a problem with the over-commercialism of stuff.

It started of course with the Great Valentine Con where people (and when I say people, I mean men) currently have to take up personal loans just to buy a stalk of rose and a box of Smarties on the day.

The sacred month of Ramadan came next. I mean RM100-per-head buka puasa buffets don’t really go with the whole spirit of going through what the poor experience one month in a year, does it? Really, how many poor people you know break their fast with lamb masala and chocolate-coated strawberries?

Then of course there’s the whole current obsession with over-celebrating family members. It’s great that you appreciate your moms and dads on the designated days, but it’s downright appalling how businesses are jumping on the bandwagon.

So now we’re supposed to show how much we love our parents by giving them water filters, or the latest furniture, or even lingerie.

“Happy Mother’s Day, mom. Here, I bought you a thong.”
“Awww, you shouldn’t have, son. I look awful in these.”

Sheesh…

Oh God, say it ain't so!

He’s one of my all-time favourite footballers and I thought I knew everything about ex-Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler after reading this book…
I knew that he’d made tons of money investing in the property market in the UK, but there was nothing in the book about this other interesting side business…

"Saya hanya ada satu perkataan je nak cakap. Sangat manis."

So You Think You Can Dance judge Pat Ibrahim on last night's episode, also proving why he's not an accountant

Waris Jari Hantu: The Premier

Waris Jari Hantu is the latest film by director Shuhaimi Baba and stars, among others, Maya Karin, Kavita Sidhu, Rusdi Ramli, Azean Irdawaty, Zahim Al Bakri, Nanu Baharuddin and Rashid Salleh.

If you’re wondering, “Hey, aren’t those all the people that have appeared in Shuhaimi Baba’s last 47 films?” Well, yeah. But this is an entirely new flick which combines 2 very interesting themes – mysticism and transsexualism.

It’s like Supernatural meets Ugly Betty. With telco sponsorship to boot.

Anyway, enjoy these pics from the premier at Cineleisure in Mutiara Damansara last Friday…

So folks, if you’re into mysticism or/and transsexualism (or Rashid Salleh in drag, whatever turns you on), don’t forget to watch Waris Jari Hantu!
