Birding 101 #6: Giverny Park, Sunsuria City

Another weekend, another new park for us to explore. Alhamdulillah!

This time around, we drove all the way to Dengkil (yes, Dengkil 😁) to check out a much-talked-about park called Giverny Park, Sunsuria City. Spanning some 14–15 acres, this French-inspired green space is fast gaining attention among joggers and nature lovers.

Apparently modelled after Claude Monet’s famous garden in France, the park features a tranquil water lily pond, a scenic lake with a fountain, and a signature bridge. Quite a lovely setting, if you ask me.

And once again, it was an absolutely beautiful morning to get some fresh air and simply lose ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings.

So, how did my birding expedition go? Pretty well, I must say. How could it not when I came away with THREE lifers! Oh yes.

First up were the Common Myna and Javan Myna. Two species I honestly couldn't believe weren't already on my life list!

Then there was the Yellow-vented Bulbul. A lovely sighting and another addition to the list.

Of course, there were also the familiar regulars making their appearances, including the Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Oriental Magpie-Robin, Asian Glossy Starling and even a Little Heron.

All in all, a relaxing and productive morning. And to round things off, we headed to one of the nearby lakeside cafés for some Laksa Johor and Lontong Darat.

Three lifers, a beautiful park and good food. We really had absolutely no cause for complaints! 😁
